Some love stories start with a swipe, others with a coffee shop meet-cute. But Jacob and Casey’s? It began with a Snapchat notification that would change their lives forever. From teenage friends separated by states to a couple building their dream life in Arkansas, their wedding day at Florence Farms was the perfect culmination of a love story that proves distance is just a number when you’ve found your person.
From Friends to Forever
At 16 and 17, Jacob and Casey connected through Snapchat’s “people you may know” feature. After three months of getting to know each other online, Jacob asked Casey to dinner – only to discover they were states apart! Most people might have called it quits there, but not these two.
“After a year of Jacob being in the ‘friend zone,’ he got the courage and asked ‘Why not?'” Casey recalls. “That’s when I realized I had the man of my dreams right in front of me all along.”
For a year, Jacob visited Casey in Houston until she was able to make the move to Arkansas at 18. Four years, four homes, and three adorable pets later (including their horse Sage!), Jacob proposed under a gorgeous giant oak tree overlooking the rolling hills of Northwest Arkansas.
Bringing Their Vision to Life
When it came to planning their October wedding, Jacob and Casey had a clear vision: “Western and Chic with a mix of whimsical.” Working with the incredible Brittany Paden from Brittany Bloom Events & Design, they transformed Florence Farms into their dream celebration.
“We dreamed of this day since we were two kids in high school,” Casey says. “When it came around, it felt like a dream all day.”
Brittany’s expertise shone through every detail, from coordinating the stunning floral installations to ensuring the timeline flowed seamlessly. Her ability to translate Jacob and Casey’s vision into reality while managing all the moving pieces made their day absolutely magical.
A Forest Fairy Tale
The floral design by Bloom Floral & Gifts was absolutely breathtaking. Jacob and Casey told them: “We want to bring the outside IN! We want the florals to give off the same vibe as if we went on a nature walk together or got married in the woods.”
The result was pure magic – antler sheds nodding to Casey’s childhood hunting days, magnolia flowers that grew outside her childhood home, and rich fall foliage that reminded them of the season Jacob proposed. Every element told a piece of their story while creating an enchanted woodland atmosphere.
Western Chic Style
Casey stayed true to her Texas roots, wearing her signature cowboy boots with her stunning RISH gown from A and Be Bridal in Dallas. Her style perfectly captured that “boho country chic” aesthetic she’s known for with flowing fabrics, beautiful beading, and a look that was authentically her.
Jacob kept things comfortable yet distinguished in jeans paired with a sharp coat from Men’s Wearhouse, while his groomsmen coordinated in matching button-ups. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in deep olive satin dresses from Revelry, adding rich autumnal tones to the celebration.
When Comfort Food Meets Celebration
Here’s where we come in! As self-proclaimed “picky eaters,” Jacob and Casey knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding menu, and we loved their approach. Pizza was the star of the show, because sometimes the best celebrations are built around the foods that make you happiest.
“When deciding what to serve our guests, we knew it was a no-brainer,” Casey explains. We complemented their pizza selection with vodka pasta and fresh salad options, creating a menu that was both delicious and true to who they are as a couple.
During cocktail hour, we served one of our favorite passed appetizers that had special meaning for the couple: grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters. This was a sweet nod to Casey’s time working at Panera Bread during their long-distance dating days!
There’s something beautiful about couples who choose food that reflects their authentic selves rather than what they think they “should” serve. Jacob and Casey’s menu was approachable, delicious, and kept their guests happy and well-fed throughout the celebration.
Sweet Endings
Rick’s Bakery created a beautiful three-tier white cake adorned with floral accents that echoed the venue’s stunning arrangements. Topped with a special cake topper from Etsy, it was the perfect sweet ending to their celebration. In the sweetest twist, Jacob and Casey now use their cake topper in a flower vase at home, admiring it each month when Jacob brings Casey fresh flowers.
The Most Unique Wedding Gift Ever
Two months before their wedding, Jacob surprised Casey with perhaps the most thoughtful gift imaginable…a horse named Sage. This 4-year-old mustang (previously wild in Nevada) reconnected Casey with her passion for horseback riding, which had been crucial to her identity since age 11.
“When I look at her, I see the love and acceptance Jacob has for my passions and dreams,” Casey shares. “Sage will always be a reminder of the special time period before we were married.”
