OMG! French Toast – An Everyday Morning Essential

 

If you’ve been looking for the perfect way to start your mornings, look no further. This isn’t just breakfast; it’s a stuffed, custard-soaked masterpiece.

What You’ll Need

The Custard Base:

  • 2 Eggs, beaten

  • ½ Cup Heavy Cream

  • 2 Tbls. Maple Syrup

The Stuffed Toast:

  • 8 Slices Brioche Bread

  • ½ Cup Mascarpone Cheese

  • 2 Tbls. Heavy Cream

  • ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract

  • ½ tsp. Ground Cinnamon

  • 1 tsp. Sugar

  • Pinch of Salt

  • Lemon Zest (for that vibrant pop!)

The Pan Coating:

  • 4 Tbls. Unsalted Butter, melted

  • 2 Tbls. Brown Sugar

  • 2 Tbls. Maple Syrup

The Vanilla Cream & Garnish:

  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream + 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract (whipped to soft peaks)

  • Caramel syrup, extra maple syrup, fresh strawberries, blueberries, and toasted coconut.

The Method

  1. Prep the Stuffing: Mix the mascarpone, 2 Tbls. cream, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, salt, and zest. Spread generously between your brioche slices to create four thick sandwiches.

  2. The Dip: Whisk your custard base ingredients. Submerge each stuffed sandwich until evenly coated.

  3. The Coating: On a baking sheet, mix your melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Lay your soaked toast into the mixture, then flip to coat both sides.

  4. The Bake: Pop them into a preheated 350°F oven for 10–15 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.

  5. The Finish: Plate it up, dollop on that fresh vanilla cream, and go wild with the berries and syrups.
